Minnesotans will not be silenced by Trump’s SCOTUS nominee
St. Paul, Minn – Ahead of Donald Trump’s announcement Monday evening of his nominee for Supreme Court of the United States, NARAL Pro-Choice Minnesota members rallied with Erin Murphy, candidate for governor, at the state capitol to say no to any Supreme Court nominee that would gut Roe v. Wade and criminalize abortion.
“Trump and Pence have promised more than once to overturn and gut Roe, criminalize abortion, and punish women—and we take their dangerous words at face-value,” said NARAL Pro-Choice Minnesota Executive Director Andrea Ledger. “With surrounding states ready to criminalize abortion if Roe is gutted, we must be ready to protect abortion access in Minnesota by electing Erin Murphy as our governor.”
“Now more than ever, Minnesotans need a governor they can count on to be first to the fight when it comes to protecting choice,” said Murphy. “As Trump continues to push a politics of division and fear, Minnesotans are demanding urgent action on the toughest issues in front of us. As a nurse, mom and state representative I have always been in this fight, working alongside Minnesotans to protect reproductive freedom and choice for all. If we stand shoulder-to-shoulder and fight together for our future, I know that hope will beat fear and we can protect women’s health in Minnesota.”
