Pro-Choice Minnesota
Our state’s oldest Reproductive Freedom advocacy organization fighting every day to keep abortion safe, legal, and accessible.
Advancing Reproductive Freedom Across Minnesota
Pro-Choice Minnesota has been a leader in the fight for reproductive rights since 1966, advocating for policies that protect and expand abortion access and reproductive healthcare. As Minnesota’s oldest reproductive freedom advocacy organization, we are committed to ensuring that everyone has the right to make personal decisions about their bodies—free from restriction, stigma, and political interference.
Mission, Vision, and Values
Our mission is to build collective power to remove barriers, strengthen protections, and expand access to abortion and all reproductive healthcare in Minnesota. We envision a future where reproductive freedom is a reality for everyone across the state.
Our work is grounded in five core values. We believe in bodily autonomy, ensuring that every individual has the right to control their body. Through collective action, we organize and mobilize communities to drive systemic change. We prioritize equity and intersectionality, centering the voices of those most impacted by reproductive oppression. We practice caring accountability, acknowledging past harms in the movement, and striving for a more inclusive future. Finally, we foster a supportive community, combating stigma and sustaining our collective fight for reproductive justice.
Our Work and Impact
We recruit, train, and support champions for reproductive freedom through several key programs. Our Campus Organizing Interns program educates and trains young activists at colleges and universities across Minnesota, empowering the next generation of pro-choice leaders. The Reproductive Freedom Action Network (RFAN) is a volunteer-led initiative focused on expanding abortion access, exposing Crisis Pregnancy Centers, and holding anti-choice legislators accountable. Additionally, our Volunteer Clinic Escort program ensures safe passage for abortion patients by protecting them from harassment outside clinics.
In 2024, our impact was stronger than ever. We endorsed 75 pro-choice candidates, with an 80% success rate in the Minnesota Legislature. Our movement was powered by 300 dedicated volunteers, including 150 newly trained activists, doubling our capacity. Our 40 volunteer leaders contributed over 1,800 hours of service, while our clinic escorts spent 108,000 minutes ensuring patient safety. Additionally, volunteers spent more than 5,000 minutes knocking on doors to mobilize support, and our community organizers led over 40 advocacy events throughout the year.
