Run For Your Rights with Coach Hayley
If you’ve run a 5K before, you know the drill. We’ll have everything you need on race day to have a
fantastic run around Lake Nokomis. If you’ve never run a 5K before, welcome! I’m so glad you’re starting your racing journey at Run For
Your Rights! This race is all about having fun, taking in some fall foliage and, of course, raising
important funds for Pro-Choice Minnesota!
If you don’t know where to start, the easiest workout is to lace up those shoes and head out for about
20 minutes. Start by walking for 1 minute, then running for 1 minute. Or maybe you’re feeling great
and run for 2-3 minutes. Walking in between lets your heart rate come down and makes it easier to
run for a bit longer than if you ran for 20 minutes straight. You can increase the length of time you
run between breaks as you continue to train.
You can also search for training plans online (here’s a great one from Runner’s World) and find a
training plan that works for you, depending on your experience.
We will also be hosting a virtual coaching session, a chance to meet me and your fellow runners to
strategize about running and fundraising on Tuesday, October 10 at 7 p.m. Click here to send an
