PRO-CHOICE MINNESOTA INTRODUCES LEGISLATIVE AND ELECTORAL AGENDA: CHOOSE CHOICE 2024
Through the collective action of thousands of volunteers, organizers, and change-makers like you across the state, Minnesota has solidified our reputation as a national leader of protecting reproductive freedoms. Even as we celebrate our historic wins, anti-choice extremists continue to threaten our bodily autonomy at every level of government.
We have work to do to ensure all Minnesotans have reproductive freedom - regardless of income, background, or zip code.
Championing choice is key to victories in Minnesota elections.
Since the overturn of Roe in 2022, the pro-choice majority has made great progress. We established the fundamental right to abortion in Minnesota. We repealed many of our state's restrictions on abortion care. And we know that the majority of Minnesotans support choice and our efforts to protect it.
However, Minnesota is an island of abortion access in the upper Midwest. Our clinics are currently overwhelmed with out-of-state patients and anti-choice politicians are betting on us losing momentum, stepping back, and staying on the sidelines in 2024.
We can't afford to slow down now - not with the threat of a Republican-imposed nationwide abortion ban; not when threats against patients and providers have reached alarming extremes.
To protect and expand abortion access, we must elect pro-choice candidates at every level, from city council to the state house. Will you pledge to vote for choice in 2024?
PRO-CHOICE MINNESOTA RESPONDS TO 40 DAYS FOR LIFE
40 Days for Life, the largest anti-abortion campaign in the United States, recently launched again in Minnesota. Abortion clinics in our communities are overwhelmed with anti-abortion protestors gathering outside their doors, with the intent of harassing, shaming, and intimidating patients seeking reproductive care. Nobody seeking abortion care in our state should face this.
That is why Pro-Choice Minnesota is launching our unapologetically pro-abortion response - 40 Days for Choice through March 25.
Your participation in 40 Days for Choice will support expanding abortion access in our state, upholding Minnesota's status as the North Star of the pro-abortion movement, and support our statewide volunteer clinic escort program. Clinic escorts are a friendly face and a barrier between patients and protesters to help patients access reproductive health care free from harassment, intimidation, and shame.
PRO-CHOICE MINNESOTA CAMPUS ORGANIZER HIGHLIGHT: MEET EMMA
My name is Emma Henry (she/her) and I study Political Science, Environmental Studies, and History at Macalester College. I am a current sophomore who is also involved in the campus swim team and an organization called Democracy Matters.
There is so much to love about being a PCM organizer, but I love getting to engage with other people on campus and in the Twin Cities that I otherwise would have never met. I'm originally from a town in Southern Virginia called Chesapeake, so it's been amazing to move to a bigger city where people are more accepting.
